Jewelry Warranty & Care Promise

At Toujours, every piece is made to carry something personal. We understand that when your jewelry contains your pet’s hair, fur, or another meaningful keepsake material, a problem with the piece can feel very different from a problem with ordinary jewelry.

If something does not seem right, please contact us. We will always review your piece thoughtfully and explain the options available before any repair or remake begins.

Our Limited Jewelry Warranty

Toujours jewelry is covered by a 12-month limited warranty from the date of delivery against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.

This warranty applies to the original purchaser and covers eligible manufacturing issues involving the jewelry setting, hardware, and handcrafted keepsake component.

Depending on the issue, Toujours may repair, remake, or replace the affected portion of the piece at no charge.

What the Warranty Covers

Examples of issues that may qualify for warranty service include:

  • A clasp, jump ring, chain connection, or jewelry component failing because of a manufacturing defect
  • A stone or resin centerpiece becoming detached from its setting under normal wear
  • A resin centerpiece cracking, separating, or failing because of a workmanship issue
  • A jewelry setting becoming loose due to a manufacturing defect
  • Significant defects in the finish or construction that were present when the piece was made
  • A keepsake centerpiece being materially different from the design or specifications ordered because of an error by Toujours

If you are unsure whether something qualifies, please reach out anyway. We would rather look at the piece with you than have you worry about whether your concern is “covered.”

Resin Keepsake Centerpieces

Some Toujours pieces feature a handcrafted resin centerpiece containing carefully arranged pet hair, fur, ashes, or other selected keepsake material.

Depending on the design and construction of the piece, different jewelry-grade resin systems may be used. Each centerpiece is individually made and finished by hand, so subtle variations in placement, density, transparency, shape, and appearance are natural.

These small differences are part of the handmade character of each keepsake and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Natural Characteristics of Resin

Resin is a handcrafted material and behaves differently from traditional gemstones. With time, wear, and environmental exposure, subtle changes may naturally occur, including:

  • Minor surface scratches
  • Gradual changes in gloss
  • Slight changes in clarity
  • Subtle color changes over time
  • Normal wear around exposed edges
  • Small variations within the handcrafted surface or inclusions

These natural changes are not automatically considered defects.

However, unusual cracking, separation from the jewelry setting, significant premature discoloration, improper curing, or another issue that appears inconsistent with normal wear may qualify for warranty review.

If you are ever unsure, please contact us. We will review your piece individually.

Caring for Your Resin Keepsake

To help preserve the clarity and finish of your keepsake:

  • Avoid prolonged contact with water.
  • Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, exercising, cleaning, or sleeping.
  • Keep away from perfume, lotion, hairspray, alcohol, household cleaners, and other chemicals.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
  • Protect the centerpiece from scratches, drops, and impact against hard surfaces.
  • Store your jewelry separately in its original box or pouch when not being worn.
  • Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, abrasive polishing compounds, or harsh jewelry cleaners on the resin portion.

Please refer to our Jewelry Care Instructions for complete care guidance.

Resin Repair or Remake

If a resin centerpiece requires repair, resetting, or replacement, we will first determine whether the original centerpiece and the keepsake material within it can be safely preserved.

Whenever reasonably possible, we will prioritize preserving the original keepsake material.

If additional pet hair, fur, ashes, or other keepsake material is required to complete an approved repair or remake, we will contact you before proceeding.

We will never intentionally use additional keepsake material without your knowledge and authorization.

What Is Not Covered

Our limited warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Scratches or surface abrasion from everyday use
  • Accidental drops or impact
  • Crushing, bending, or pulling
  • Water or chemical exposure
  • Improper cleaning or storage
  • Exposure to excessive heat or prolonged sunlight
  • Damage caused by pets or children
  • Normal tarnishing of sterling silver
  • Gradual fading or wear of plated finishes
  • Natural aging or minor color changes in resin
  • Incorrect ring size selected by the customer
  • Loss of the jewelry
  • Loss of individual stones or components caused by accidental damage
  • Repairs, resizing, alterations, or modifications performed by someone other than Toujours or an authorized repair provider

This warranty also does not cover slight variations inherent to individually handmade jewelry.

Plated Jewelry

Gold-plated, rose-gold-plated, and other plated finishes naturally wear over time.

The speed of wear depends on factors such as frequency of use, skin chemistry, exposure to moisture, cosmetics, friction, and how the jewelry is stored.

Gradual plating wear is considered normal wear rather than a manufacturing defect.

If your piece needs replating, please contact us. Replating services may be available for an additional fee.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and may tarnish over time. Tarnishing does not indicate defective metal and is not covered as a manufacturing defect.

Gentle polishing with an appropriate jewelry cloth can usually restore its appearance. Please avoid polishing compounds on the resin centerpiece itself.

Chains, Clasps & Findings

Chains and other delicate jewelry components should be handled gently.

A clasp or connection that fails because of defective construction may be covered under warranty.

Breakage caused by pulling, snagging, twisting, sleeping in the jewelry, accidental impact, or similar external force is considered accidental damage. Even when damage is not covered by warranty, we may still be able to repair the piece.

Your Pet’s Hair, Fur or Keepsake Material

We understand that the material inside your piece may be irreplaceable.

If a repair or remake involves the keepsake centerpiece, we will first determine whether the original centerpiece can be preserved.

Whenever reasonably possible, we will prioritize repairing or resetting the existing keepsake rather than replacing it.

If additional pet hair, fur, ashes, or other keepsake material would be required, we will contact you before proceeding.

We will never intentionally use additional keepsake material for a repair or remake without your knowledge and authorization.

If Your Piece Arrives Damaged or Incorrect

If your jewelry arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from what you ordered, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.

These concerns are handled under our Returns, Cancellations & Remakes Policy, which explains the options available for repairs, remakes, replacements, or refunds when appropriate.

Please do not worry about determining whether your concern technically falls under the Return Policy or Warranty before contacting us.

Tell us what happened, and we will guide you from there.

That distinction is for our internal process, not something we expect you to figure out on your own.

How Warranty Claims Are Resolved

Once we review your piece, an approved warranty claim may be resolved through:

  • Repair
  • Resetting of the centerpiece
  • Replacement of a defective jewelry component
  • Remake of the affected portion
  • Replacement of the piece when repair is not practical

Because keepsake jewelry is individually handmade and may contain limited or irreplaceable material, the appropriate solution will depend on the specific piece and what can be done safely.

A refund is not normally the first remedy for a repairable warranty issue, but circumstances covered by our Returns, Cancellations & Remakes Policy will be considered when applicable.

Shipping for Approved Warranty Service

If we confirm that an issue is covered by the Toujours warranty, we will provide instructions for sending the piece back to us and will cover reasonable shipping costs associated with the approved repair or replacement.

Please do not mail your jewelry to us without receiving return instructions first, particularly if the piece contains ashes or other materials requiring special shipping procedures.

Repairs Outside the Warranty

We want your Toujours piece to stay with you for as long as possible.

Even if damage is not covered by the limited warranty, contact us before giving up on your piece.

Depending on the design and condition, we may be able to offer:

  • Chain replacement
  • Clasp replacement
  • Replating
  • Resizing
  • Resin refinishing
  • Centerpiece resetting
  • Repair or remake

If a paid repair is possible, we will explain the expected cost before beginning any work.

A Note From Toujours

Handmade keepsakes live real lives with the people who wear them. They may eventually show small signs of being carried, touched, and loved.

We do not expect your piece to remain untouched forever.

What we do promise is that if something feels wrong, we will listen, look at it carefully, and help you understand what can be done.

For concerns immediately after receiving your order, please see our Returns, Cancellations & Remakes Policy. For issues that develop with wear, this Jewelry Warranty & Care Promise will guide the next step.

You never need to decide which policy applies before reaching out. Start with us, and we’ll help from there.
